A warm welcome from SoftwareSuggest, Mr. Anshuman Das. Our readers are keen to know what prompted you to found HirePro. Tell us about your journey so far.
Firstly, thank you, for inviting me to this interview.
HirePro was founded in the year 2004; as an outcome of the passion to solve recruitment problems holistically. Based on the learnings from CareerNet, HirePro’s parent organization, we identified the customer need for professional assessment, seamless and error-free processes, and recruitment automation.
Today, HirePro is the destination of choice for businesses, across the globe and industry verticals, to manage diverse phases of their recruitment supply chain encompassing assessments, interviews, custom workflows, and on-boarding. Our recruitment platform, which is enabled by AI and assisted by experts, helps customers to source, screen, assess, interview, select, and onboard the best talent. In a nutshell, we make virtual hiring (remote recruitment) frictionless and real.
What is your success mantra? Is there anything that you have followed personally that has helped you in your journey?
I believe that we should have the conviction to follow a customer problem and innovate the solution we have in mind. No goal is easily achievable; neither is any goal impossible to achieve. Over these years of helping employers find the best talent and enabling candidates to find the right careers, I have experienced that long-term trust can be earned through consistent quality service and not just promises. When I look back, I realize that the consistency in achieving goals with a conviction for our customers and candidates has helped us throughout our journey.
How has HirePro equipped itself to deal with the Covid-19 situation better?
The pandemic pushed recruiters to redefine the norms of hiring. To find suitable talent for specific roles, remote recruitment surfaced as the most relevant method for professionals in talent acquisition. Recruiters started looking for tools to optimize virtual hiring extensively. That is when HirePro’s AI-powered recruitment platform took the centre stage.
With over 10 million successful proctored assessments served, our frictionless virtual hiring platform is equipped with intelligent technology that is trusted by some of the leading enterprises across the country for freshers and advanced-level talent hiring.
Any interesting changes in HirePro numbers/ stats that you would like to share between pre-pandemic and now?
Ever since the pandemic broke out, and social distancing became a norm, a new market got established. We have seen a 3-times jump in the number of organizations moving their recruitment completely remote and a 5-times growth in the receptiveness of digitally proctored assessment solutions. Our virtual hiring solutions recorded a 10-times growth wherein we have seen a steep rise in demand for our proctored assessment, video interview, and onboarding platforms.
What updates and advancements are being made at HirePro to help your clients navigate in the new normal?
Our recruitment platform, powered by AI and ML, is being upgraded with enhanced features to empower employers to achieve scale, over a year, to the tune of tens of thousands of candidates getting hired and millions of candidates getting processed and assessed across hundreds of locations in the country.
Our platform can be easily integrated with third-party applications and other platforms for different phases of the recruitment cycle. We are introducing innovative features and strengthening the existing ones to deliver a superlative customer experience as they navigate the new normal to find the best talent.
What is your vision and plan for taking HirePro to greater heights in the next 5 years?
We see HirePro as India’s predominant recruitment technology company providing a holistic approach to the recruitment supply chain in the next few years. We are going for a 3-dimensional growth. We are a leader in virtual hiring solutions, and we want our platform to serve more than 10 million jobs annually.
We plan to build solutions with global acceptance with a focus on emerging markets like Southeast Asia, Middle East, LATAM, and even more developed countries like China, Eastern Europe, and the Far East. We believe that HirePro has immense potential to dive deep into sectors like education, employability, continuous employee development, and engagement with its proctored assessments solution and custom workflows.
What motivates and strengthens you to keep up with the competition?
When the problem is tough to solve, the challenge becomes deep, but it also comes with opportunities. The recruitment market is big. Instead of deliberating about keeping up with the competition, it is more important for the ecosystem to come together to solve it.
Right solutions at the right time are important. We know that the problems in transportation and local mobility could not be solved back in 2000 as GPS technology did not exist then. Look at where this industry stands today with the likes of Uber and Ola. The increasing customer demand triggered by the pandemic and improved infrastructure has pushed virtual hiring (remote recruitment) much forward, which we’d been pursuing for years. We are very confident of our future, and we believe that competition is about collaborating in the ecosystem.
What advice would you give to young entrepreneurs starting out in this field?
Entrepreneurship is not about taking risks but about managing them. Entrepreneurs who plan well, have conviction and manage risks stand tall as compared with the rest. It is important to learn to lose so that one can win eventually. The harder the problem, the tougher the solution will be. For budding entrepreneurs to become successful it is important to understand the customer problem, build the right team aside, and create an ecosystem that can solve the problem in a delightful manner.
