Of course, tight deadlines are a part of the job, and you absolutely cannot miss those deadlines. A missed deadline will result in your client not being awarded the contract, which will reflect very poorly on your services.

What Kind of Training Do You Need?

You will start out as a junior bid writer. This entry level position requires a minimum of five years’ worth of GCSEs with grades not lower than a C, including maths and English. Some employers may insist that you also have a degree. It’s the kind of position that you can work your way up in over time.

Additional skills you’ll need are excellent research skills, the ability to multi-task and work on various bids at once, and an eye for detail and organization. You need to be an “ideas” person with interviewing skills, the ability to review and look at things in a critical manner, and capable of creating a strategy that works.
