How long have you been working with this product?
I recently completed 4 years of my fantastic journey with this organization, which I am sure would stay to be exciting in the future too, considering how much innovations we are coming up with. I have worked with a lot of big brands in the past but joining Mettl, then a startup was a revelation for me. There were so many possibilities that you could explore and so many variables that could be tweaked- who you want to hire and what customers you want to reach out to.
And all such opportunities waiting for your genuine intentions and honest efforts- the speed was exhilarating. Back then, I was working with the founders of the company- Ketan Kapoor and Tonmoy Shingal- two of the finest minds I have ever known. The fact that we were a growth story, working to find solutions to the problems the industry was facing, and we were seeing positive results quickly, culminated in all of it coming together beautifully.
The experience has been phenomenal because I believe very few people in leadership and management get the chance to scale organizations as we did with Mettl. Today, we are catering to 4500 clients with 400 employees onboard in the B2B space that we have reached from a figure of 800 clients with 100 employees. Frankly, I have loved every minute of it, and I have never faced Monday blues here.
What is the most interesting thing about your job?
We are a part of the larger Mercer ecosystem that brings with it the exposure to global markets and experience of doing business with optimized processes. But that hasn’t stopped the flexibility that the startup culture offers. The canvas is huge, and we can paint it the way we want. We have enough elbow room to pivot, move quickly, learn, apply those learnings to improve our offerings creatively, and in the process, excite more customers. The pleasure of working with people who are brilliant than you and who have helped build Mercer | Mettl into what it is today occupies my imagination, day in, and day out.
Are there any ideological principles that your organization follows to maintain the brand value?
The ideological principles of Mercer | Mettl continue to remain the same that were its founding principles, and it will stay the same way. There are no hierarchies, silos, or walls that differentiate seniors from freshers or vice versa. Anybody with a point of view and innovative ideas is respected. We have always been open to criticism and healthy debates about what can be done to solve the problems better for our customers.
